Meet the Artist

Belinda Barancewicz is a Canberra-based multidisciplinary artist, director, producer and writer whose work spans broadcast television, documentary and visual arts.

Working primarily in pen and ink, her botanical practice is informed by close observation of trees, florals, seed pods and foliage, exploring the relationship between people, place and the natural world. Many of her works begin through repeated observation, returning to the same specimens over time to document subtle changes in season, structure and form.

Alongside her visual arts practice, Belinda has spent more than two decades working in television, including as a writer and director on Play School. Her experience in visual storytelling continues to inform her approach to drawing, bringing together observation, composition and narrative.

Her first solo exhibition, Empty Vases, was presented at The Front Gallery, Canberra, in 2026.
